The Follow Up…Yard Sale Day 2..and ThenSome :)

Sometimes, you just gotta be cool.

My dogs will do almost anything for a treat…and they love their mommy…so this is my treat to you :)

Annnnnnd  SO IS THIS…HA!!
Had to capture my man wearing a fanny pack.  Yeeeeeeeesssssss.
It was quite the awesome little money keeper, though, I'll tell you.
We were thankful for it…Thank you 80s…or 90s…whichever :)

Matt was SUPER helpful to build these signs and hammer them into the ground to make it easy for all of our yard sale-ers make it to the correct place…we had a lot of people comment on how helpful they were!

Oh, and a yard sale can wreak havoc on a girl's nails/cuticles!!! OUCH!

And this is what our dogs looked like the whole day while we were outside selling...

So, after the Yard Sale was over the first day, Matt took some sweet time to play with our pups…
I just love this action shot!
You can see the ball above their heads…they're already heading towards where they think it will land!
Only to have that much energy again…

We then went for a wind down dinner at Chuy's.  NomNomNom.

Just FYI…
I mentioned in our Yard Sale Day 1 post that we were trusting the Lord to raise funds for us to go towards our infertility process…and to hold off the rain…

Grand total for TWO days:  $1002.00

We were so humbled by our Lord.  Truly.  Just amazed :)

Now…for a few more hilarious pictures that our dogs allowed me to take…VERY quickly mind you :)

Love these girls.

The Yard Sale!

Today was the first day of our VERY FIRST yard sale EVER!!
It was a HUGE success!!
I was so nervous all week.  It was supposed to rain today, and you never know if people are going to want to buy your stuff…or even come, and if they do, turn out on a Friday may not be that great…

Well, let me sing the praises of our Great God and King!
Matt and I have been praying all week that The Lord would provide for us in our continued efforts in this infertility process…it's quite expensive!
We prayed specifically that He would raise a lot of money for us during this yard sale.

Fast forward to two days ago…
The weather forecast for today and tomorrow was "scattered thunderstorms with chance of rain 60%".
We started asking the Lord to stay the rain until after the yard sale.  We asked our small group from church to pray as well. I wanted to be very careful in asking this, though - I wanted the Lord to know how much we love HIM, and HIS rain…it nourishes the earth, we NEED it…and I LOVE the rain. So, in making this request, I told the Lord all of this, and then asked if He would just hold it off long enough to get our stuff out, sold, and back in before the heavens opened their gates.

Yesterday, the forecast improved to just 40% chance of rain…

Today…IT DIDN'T RAIN AT ALL…NOT A DROP.

My heart skips a beat and flutters and dances all at once just typing that!

Oh, and people came in DROVES…I'm not kidding.  We didn't have 30 seconds of time when one or two cars weren't pulling up as one was leaving…

And from today's sale, along with two other sales I made this week of clothing, we've received $700.00 total.

Through heartfelt tears, I told my husband that I needed this. In the midst of all of our trials lately with infertility, etc., I needed to visibly see God's faithfulness. I believe He's faithful, I love Him, and I will follow Him all the days of my life…but sometimes I just need "sight" given to me.

God knew what I needed, and He looked down on this child of His, and let me see Him.

This is a stone of remembrance in my life, hidden away in my heart.

Ephesians 3:20
"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

1 Corinthians 13:12
"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known."

**and a HUGE thank you to my sweet friend, Lyndsey, who came with her two children to help me from 7:30a-2p while Matt was at work…such a wonderful blessing! You can see her in the picture above on the far left.**

Life for the Norm.

And Life Does Go On...
It always does.

Lately, we've been making the most of our time with little fun moments :)
Krispy Kreme recently celebrated "Doughnut Day"...which we were more than happy to partake in :)
But who can have just one, right??
This is how they get you....
nom nom nom nom nom

We've spent time out at the lake - Oak Mountain Park, that is...and our pups have thoroughly enjoyed swimming and fetching...and we've enjoyed soaking up some Vitamin D :)

We bought Matt a new car!
He's always loved sport wagons...go figure :)  He may be the only man on the planet who openly admits it...but he says "they're quirky, like me" :)
And he certainly looks adorable driving it...
And it drives like a sports car...so double win for him.
Love him..
(We still have his 1994 Ford Ranger, as you can see in the background, with 254,000 miles and going somewhat strong...more weak than strong..ok...on it's last leg...BUT!  We'll use it until it actually dies.  ALWAYS need a vehicle to haul stuff in, right?  High five!)

And, we've had friends' weddings to attend this summer...It is still so much fun having friends "our age" finding their forever loves :)  It brings a new light of hope...God is for His children...He desires their happiness, and delights in them.
Psalm 138:8
"The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands."

Lord, we will trust in You.
Our doctors have made us a take a month off for healing.
They're plan is to have us restart meds/procedures this next month to "try again".
Our hope is that the Lord would allow us to get pregnant naturally this month,
Glory be to His Name.
Please pray with us.

(I know some of you out there may be thinking, "Have they considered adoption?"...YES.  We have!  But the state we live in will not allow us to adopt domestically until we are married at least THREE years....This July will be TWO for us :)  So, we have a little time to wait.  We can proceed with some international adoptions - which we have looked in to, but do not currently feel called to it...but our hearts are always open to where God may want to take us.)
